World Cup 2019 : South Africa vs Bangladesh, Match 5, ICC World Cup 2019

Live Score Updates
South Africa 309/8 (50.0 Ovs)
Rabada  13 (9)
Bangladesh 330/6
Saifuddin  8-1-57-2
Bangladesh won by 21 runs

Never has Mustafizur Rahman has picked three wickets in an ODI and lost. Today was no different. After having posted their biggest total in 50 overs, Bangladesh was clinical with their bowling to restrict South Africa to 309/8. The spinners restricted the scoring in the middle overs, the Pacers picked wickets at crucial intervals and never allowed the South African batsmen to dominate. Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram, Faf du Plessis, Rassie van der Dussen and JP Duminy all got starts but couldn't press for anything bigger. More importantly, Bangladesh didn't allow them to get ahead in the contest even as South Africa managed two good stands to begin their chase. Eventually, Bangladesh began their world cup campaign with a 21-run win. South Africa was handed their second loss on the bounce while Bangladesh became the first Asian team to register a win in this world cup. Gloomy but early days for Faf du Plessis's men.
Over? JP Duminy looking to pull Mustafizur Rahman plays on. With 44 needed off 17 balls, it seems like the contest is almost done.

Favourites to win CWC 2019:

Considering the sumptuous form of the Indian team in ODI format under Virat Kohli, the Men in Blue will go into the World Cup as a huge tournament favourite. Hosts England can exploit their home conditions and have the players to break the 50-over World Cup jinx.

South Africa and New Zealand both have a balanced side which can destroy any opposition on their day and will certainly look to abandon the tag. Australia, on the other side, will be on the back foot as their entire skeleton of the core team was rattled by the suspension of Steven Smith and David Warner.

However, Smith is likely to play the World Cup but doubt looms large over his form after a year gap from top cricket. Pakistan will take huge confidence from their win in the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy victory in England. Along with them, Bangladesh will be the dark horses. However, Afghanistan may spoil the parties with few upset wins. West Indies and Sri Lanka are likely to progress to the semi-finals.
